SEPANG: McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time in Saturday's pre-qualifying practice for the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix.
Hamilton edged Red bull driver Mark Webber by almost three-tenths of a second around the Sepang circuit.
McLaren's Jenson Button was third fastest, ahead of Renault's Nick Heidfeld, Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso.
Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher was ninth fastest in his Mercedes.
It was a dry practice session, but the threat of rain will increase before the start of qualifying later at 4pm. - theStarOnline
